The Accredited Snow Contractors Association has strengthened and clarified some of the language in the SN 9001 certification, and updated version is now available to snow and ice managers.

"This is a pretty routine review of the certification," says ASCA Executive Director Kevin Gilbride. "We found some areas where we could clean up the language, and even clarify some of its intent. Overall, the changes we made simply strenghtened the certification."

SN 9001 is a quality management system specifically for the professional snow and ice management industry and works in conjunction with the existing ISO 9001. This program is based on ISO 9001 with additional requirements based on the professional snow and ice management industry and the Industry Standards.

Contractors earn ISO 9001/SN 9001 certification through an independent, third-party audit that focuses on processes and procedures that adhere to service quality, as well as the implementation of the Industry Standards for the professional snow and ice management industry.

For more information on auditing companies and their certification processes contact the ASCA or search the ANAB directory at www.anab.org.

Snow and ice management contractors can purchase the ISO QMS standards by clicking here or by calling ASQ’s (American Society for Quality) at 800-248-1946.
