As I write this it’s mid-April and, like many of you, I am sitting in my living room sheltering at home. My kids have taken over the office and what seems to be most of the house for their schoolwork. By the time this issue hits you I hope we have returned to some level of normalcy.

Over the past three weeks I have spoken to many ASCA members and I’m amazed at the leadership displayed by those individuals and companies. While our world turned upside-down, people have rallied not only themselves, but their entire companies. They adapted quickly and moved on with their business. Many adapted for their summer services while others retooled and quickly got their teams set up at home to continue their operations virtually. They reached out to each other and networked with those across the country to share thoughts and ideas.

As I was engaged in these conversations I mulled over our plans for Executive Summit, and the thought occurred to me how valuable this event has been for so many people. It also occurred to me how many people have missed this opportunity and how their lives or business might have benefited from attending past events.

Last year we merged Executive Summit with the Snow and Ice Show. Like with everything, we received a lot of valuable feedback. We learned that the ASCA is very good at the educational side of shows. At the same time, we also learned that a trade show is not necessary to successfully put on an educational event. So, this year we’re going back to what we do best – providing world-class education.

Executive Summit is going back to its original format. It will be held July 29-31 at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort in Florida. We are hoping the world is back open because, folks, this is a return to normalcy event. We do have contingency plans, but as of right now we plan on July 29-31. We are excited about our line-up of top-notch speakers and high-level business management topics.

The Snow and Ice Show educational track is going to be added to Executive Summit, providing those contractors (who should have been attending Summit anyways) with more snow and ice education. So, at Executive Summit, there will be a second room of education added. This will be our traditional education on more snow-related topics. This event will begin on Wednesday afternoon July 29th and continue through the morning of Friday July 31st.

All networking events, cocktail receptions and the dinner and awards banquette will be held together to encourage networking.

This is the premier event in the snow and ice management industry. We are looking forward to this year’s Executive Summit 2.0 and providing the industry the education and networking they value. This goes so much further than just the event. The education is awesome, but it’s about networking during the event and what you can do with those new relationships, especially in unforeseen times.
