Some thoughts on the 2017 Snow and Ice Show, industry feedback and plans for the future.

August 28, 2017

Very rarely am I at a loss for words, but the success and feedback I’ve received about our inaugural Snow and Ice Show has rendered me nearly speechless.

Indianapolis played host to more than 400 contractors and industry suppliers who took part in three days of education, networking and industry self-discovery. From the classrooms to the trade show floor to the after-hours networking receptions, there was an undeniable energy and sense of positivity throughout the event.

I wanted to personally thank those industry professionals who participated in Snow and Ice Show 2017 for making this happen. It’s not easy to tear yourself away from your business for a week, so we hope you walked away feeling your return on investment was worthwhile. We’d also like to express our profound thanks and appreciation to the industry suppliers, member companies and partners who came out and participated in the event’s trade show or took part in one of the various educational sessions.

For those of you who either asked me or other members of the Snow Magazine and ASCA team about the timing and whereabouts of next year’s Snow and Ice Show – we’re currently reviewing scheduling and locations. This summer, we conducted a comprehensive survey of both show attendees and Snow Magazine readers to determine not only the ideal location for 2018, but to also gain some perspective on how we can better serve contractors at future Snow and Ice events. Thank you, again, for all of those who participated and offered their opinions.

Finally, we received many positive comments throughout and in the weeks following the event. One of my favorites was from a gentleman who had not yet attended an ASCA event. In Indy, he was an active participant throughout the event, asking questions and offering his advice/experiences throughout the sessions. He seemed to be one of the folks who was ahead of others in the room. During a break, I asked him how things were going. His response was simply: “I didn’t know how little I knew.” It re-enforced to me that our educational presenters were the best of the best.

Again, thank you for making Snow and Ice Show 2017 such a great success!

Last thing, we wanted to share some of the photos from last week’s event. Hope to see all of you at Snow and Ice Show 2018.
