Here's an interesting gadget for contractors looking to get more muscle out of their loaders during white or green seasons.
Fecon, which manufactures tracked carriers and tractors, as well as attachments and equipment for vegetation management, has introduced a new hydraulic cooler for compact tracked loaders. Mounted on compact loader and skid steer rooftops, the cooler is designed to enhance performance by maintaining the hydraulic fluid at optimal temperatures and viscosity.
The compact, all-steel design weighs about 185 pounds plus mounting brackets, with adjustable mounting rails for varying mounting positions. Two 11-inch thermostatically controlled electric cooling fans cycle on when needed to mitigate rising hydraulic fluid temperatures. A bypass relief is included for cold oil starts. The units handle flows up to 48 GPM, and provide up to 120,000 BTU/hr of cooling capacity. Tool-less, hinged lid and removable intake screens speed and simplify maintenance.
According to the company, Fecon offers mounting kits for the cooler for the Bobcat T770 and T870 compact track loaders as well as the Takeuchi TL10 and TL12. Several more kits are in development for Gehl, Kubota, John Deere, Case, and other machines.
